Undergraduate Research (REU) - Laboratory for Photocathode Research at University of Maryland

June 2011 - August 2011

- Worked under Dr. Eric Montgomery in the study of high quantum efficiency photocathodes for free electron laser and particle accelerator applications. - Used Matlab, and designed/fabricated/installed a new experimental apparatus into vacuum chamber. - Became familiar with vacuum chamber procedures. Presented in MERIT and TREND 2011 Fair.

November 2010 - May 2011

- Used Matlab to investigate tree ring growth (TRG) data and direct climate measures (CMs), located similar patterns in four data sets to verify periodic fluctuations in climate, and established TRG as a possible CM. - Presented in Spring SURE Symposium. Anticipated co-author of publication.

- Co-mentored a group of 7th – 8th grades for the three-day Impetus Roller-Coaster Camp. Received complements from students’ high school teacher for ability to involve students. - Worked with Matlab to take data and make it runnable on a virtual roller-coaster simulator.
